Project Description

The Power Over Fiber Implementation Project, assigned with Clusters in the following states Delta, Imo, Anambra, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Enugu, Kogi and Abia States, focuses on establishing reliable power infrastructure for efficient and secure communication networks. The project aims to enable seamless power delivery over fiber optic cable sites, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity between key sites. This project spans a route length of over 150km. Project Description

Quality Assurance Snag Tracker for Project Implemented for Kogi, Edo, Imo, Abia, Enugu, Delta, Anambra, Ebonyi, Cross Rivers, Rivers Akwa Ibom, Kwara, Ekiti, Nasarwa and Abuja The Comprehensive Snag Lists project, led by GICL (General Infrastructure and Connectivity Limited) and managed by Ichiem Ltd., focuses on identifying and resolving various issues and violations encountered during the implementation of the FY20,21,22 &23 OFC (Optical Fibre Cable) projects in above mentioned States. The project aims to maintain high-quality standards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and enhance the overall performance and durability of the communication infrastructure.

Under the supervision of the QA/QC representatives, the project involves collaboration with multiple implementing contractors the snag list serves as a comprehensive record of all identified issues from the start of the project until the present, ensuring that no snag is overlooked or deleted.

The snag list comprises multiple entries highlighting different types of issues and violations. These include safety and health environment (HSE) violations, specification violations, violations of standards, and violations of established guidelines. Each snag was described along with its unique snag number, description, snag type, location details (MH section, drawing, and landmark), segment, coordinates, and snag identification date.

The identified snags encompass a wide range of concerns, such as open manhole pits without caution tape, un-reinstated area trench points, shallow depth of duct laying, ducts laid on the surface, improper backfilling of manhole pits, pending concrete reinstatements, and violations related to road crossings, surface reinstatements, and thrust boring pits. The snags also include issues related to drainage crossings, coupling points, Road crossing depths, abandoned or incomplete installations, and violations in specific areas and roads within the area’s concern States.

The project aims to address each snag by taking appropriate corrective measures, adhering to safety guidelines, and ensuring compliance with established standards and specifications. By systematically resolving these snags, the project aims to enhance the reliability, performance, and longevity of the OFC projects in the concerned States.

The Comprehensive Snag Lists project in the concerned States represents a proactive approach by Ichiem Ltd. to ensure the smooth operation and optimal functionality of the OFC infrastructure. It demonstrates the commitment to delivering high-quality communication networks that meet industry standards and provide seamless connectivity for the benefit of businesses, residents, and the overall development of the state.
