Project Description
The Power Over Fiber Implementation Project, assigned with Clusters in the following states Delta, Imo, Anambra, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Enugu, Kogi and Abia States, focuses on establishing reliable power infrastructure for efficient and secure communication networks. The project aims to enable seamless power delivery over fiber optic cable sites, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity between key sites. This project spans a route length of over 150km.
To achieve this, the project incorporates innovative thrust boring, trenching Lay of PVC Ducts and casting techniques to create underground channels for the power cables to down while the fiber optic cables be at the top on the same route. These channels are designed to accommodate the power delivery mechanism and ensure optimal protection and performance.
The project identifies sharing the same manholes with the fiber ducts strategically placed along the route, facilitating easy access for maintenance and troubleshooting activities. These manholes serve as key points of connectivity, allowing technicians to efficiently manage the fiber optic network and power infrastructure.
By implementing Power over Fiber technology, this project aims to enhance the reliability and resilience of the communication network in the States mentioned. It provides a cost-effective and sustainable solution by eliminating the need for multiple uses of Generators and reducing the overall infrastructure footprint.
Through this project, these states can leverage the benefits of advanced communication technologies, such as high-speed data transmission, enhanced network security, and improved network management capabilities. It contributes to the state’s technological advancement and supports various sectors, including telecommunications, internet services, and other industries reliant on robust connectivity.
The Power over Fiber Implementation Project in these States demonstrates a commitment to leveraging cutting-edge solutions to optimize power and data delivery, fostering efficient communication infrastructure for the benefit of businesses, residents, and the overall development of the regions.
